Unfinished Chorale

Note: I finally found the title of the Pachelbel work from which I got this melody. It is from his 8 organ partita settings of “Alle Menschen müssen sterben” but with an alternate melody to the usual setting of the text, also known occasionally as “Jesu, der du meine Seele”. More about that issue [here] The melody may have come from a certain Jakob Hintze.    My decision to set the Gigas text to it was a temporary inspiration that doesn’t make much logical sense, since the rest of the text does not match the melody at all.  At the time I wrote it, though, I didn’t have access to any scores at all, so upon finding the rest of the text, I decided to leave it as is: unfinished.
