This tip will save brain cells.
By Jaems • Nov 5th, 2009 • Category: TutorialsIf you’re a Mac user and you’ve ever used the keyboard shortcut to Force Quit applications (if you’ve never used it, upgrading to Snow Leopard will most definitely make it a necessity), you know that it’s alt-Apple-Escape. You’ve probably also noticed that from time to time, you bring up the dreaded “Front Row” menu when trying to access the Force Quit menu. That’s because the shortcut for Front Row is Apple-Escape. Brilliant. I despise Front Row as a rule, but regardless of how I feel about it, I can assure you that the one of the least likely times I want to see that debilitating and extraneous menu is when I’m trying to Force Quit a fussy application.
Here’s how to disable that pesky shortcut:
Go to System Preferences – Keyboard – Keyboard Shortcuts. There’s a tick box to deselect the dreaded Front Row shortcut.

A small price to pay for saving those brain cells
